Is Pearl Street Pasta closing?
Something about the owners wanting to move back to Natchez? Anyone else heard this?

RE: Is Pearl Street Pasta closing?
Looks like Pearl Street is still going strong.

Recently realized that the original Pearl Street is in Natchez. And just after I heard that I was reading a book by Greg Iles (who is a UM grad I believe) that was set in Natchez (like a lot of his are) and it mentioned the Pearl Street Pasta there.

Either way, both are good places for dinner. And I hope this one in Oxford stays open. The rumor I heard was that the family that owns both was looking to possibly close the one in Oxford and just concentrate on the Natchez restaurant.

Varsity grill owners are apparantly interested, from what I hear is a sports bar with feeling of upscale dining. Also heard the gentleman who was looking to buy wanted the place next door as well, but Bridge ( I believe wouldnt do it) Not sure how factual this information is. Never really know till they change the sign!
Take care,

It was in the paper last week that The Varsity Grill is going to open there. Owned by same guys who own the Old Venice Pizza's in Starkville and Tupelo (but not the one here.)

I hope the Hot Wings are good. You can't have a good sports bar with out good hot wings, upscale or not!

Actually, my family often goes to Natchez's restaurant. This restaurant is famous for smoked ribs and chicken, but also serves a variety menu that includes po-boys, gumbo, and more. I enjoy eating here and they provide a good customer service.
